4 of the 6 shortlisted bidders for the gas-fired Prai power projects have proposed to adopt Siemens' newest H-Classs combined-cycle power plant. They are Tenaga Nasional Bhd, YTL Power-Marubeni consortium, the CI Holdings-TTPC-Daelim consortium and the Malakoff-Petronas-Mitsubishi consortium.
ReplyDeleteTurbines made by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd and General Electric Energy Ltd were proposed by Mitsui-Pendekar Power consortium and Genting Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd.
According to Siemens, the H-Class CCPP is a combination of a gas and steam turbine that boosts a greatly improved efficiency level of 60.75%. That compares with an efficiency level of about 40% if the gas and steam turbines operate separately.
